Reporting to the Supervisor, Services, the Network Development Worker will identify, connect, and bring together members of the child(ren)'s network, including kin, kith, and connected people. The purpose of the work is to strengthen connections, involve the network in support or safety planning processes, and identify family-based plans where needed.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Education and Skills:

  • A Diploma in a Human Services-related field is required. Consideration may also be given to applicants who possess a diploma or degree in a related discipline, along with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a direct service role within the Human Services sector. A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or Social Services field is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and Ministry of Children and Youth Services, as well as clinical knowledge of social work theories, principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates awareness of factors that may pose a risk to children and families and applies appropriate judgment in determining concerns and next steps.
  • Effective demonstration of child protection interviewing techniques and assessment skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal and counselling skills and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with children, youth, families, staff, foster, adoptive and kin families, and community collaterals.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to meet Society recording responsibilities and other administrative requirements.
  • Proven organizational skills to set and meet priorities and established Ministry and Society requirements and to manage assigned work.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and chair family-based meetings.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as to function as a cooperative team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to work from a solutions-focused, strengths-based perspective.
  • Demonstrated understanding of family systems theory, child development, family group decision-making, the effects of trauma on a child, and a systems approach to working with families and professionals working with the families.
  • Proof of valid G-class driver's license and $1,000,000 automobile liability insurance.

The Employer reserves the right to waive the required qualifications in the event of other exceptional qualifications or experience.

Salary Range

$58,579 - $73,234. We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package and opportunities for professional development.
