The successful candidate will be responsible for the department's academic, clinical, research, and operational activities, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the College of Medicine and the broader health system. This leadership role involves connecting medical education, research, clinical practice, and public health priorities to enhance the performance of the health system and provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, collaborative, and engaging leader with the ability to inspire diverse teams, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and advance the department's priorities in education, research, and clinical care. Applicants for the Provincial Department Head position must hold an MD and be eligible for licensure in Saskatchewan. The role requires an accomplished clinician with a strong background in academic and clinical leadership, including mentoring faculty and supporting recruitment and professional development. The candidate should have a proven track record of excellence in clinical care, education, and research, and be committed to the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Strong administrative and strategic planning capabilities are essential to support the department's growth and impact in patient care, medical education, and pediatric research. The position is pivotal in the department's mission to provide comprehensive, family-centered care for children and youth across the province and to train the next generation of pediatricians.
