Job description

Always there. Anywhere. That's us! A team committed to delivering inspired solutions for a better world. We care for our communities and each other, and we are committed to showing up for those who need us. We value and encourage diversity, and we have the courage to do the right thing, even when it's hard.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Modular Solutions team in a primarily site-based role, with travel as required. Reporting to the Project Manager and partnering closely with the Site Construction Manager, you will support the delivery of large-scale modular residential projects, including mid-rise and high-rise multi-family developments.

In this role, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilization and modular installation through occupancy, turnover, and warranty. Acting as a key link between field operations, consultants, subcontractors, manufacturing teams, transportation providers, and municipal authorities, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to build expertise in modular construction, gain exposure to complex residential projects, and develop the skills needed for future project leadership opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support construction planning, sequencing, milestone schedules, look-ahead planning, and weekly coordination.
  • Coordinate site crews, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, modular installation teams, and manufacturing-to-site interfaces.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks or constraints, support recovery plans, and report on schedule, quality, safety, productivity, and cost impacts.
  • Coordinate civil, foundation, structural, architectural, building envelope, MEP, transportation, crane lift, module setting, tie-in, and post-installation activities.
  • Conduct inspections, coordinate testing and third-party verification, track NCRs, corrective actions, quality records, turnover documentation, and close-out files.
  • Support contract administration, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, field instructions, change events, claims documentation, reporting, forecasting, and construction records.
  • Review drawings and specifications, support design coordination, constructability reviews, value engineering, permit-driven changes, and technical issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with AHJs, inspectors, and municipal representatives on permits, approvals, inspections, occupancy, code compliance, and final sign-off.
  • Promote safety culture, support audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, subcontractor compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Act as a technical liaison, provide accurate reporting, build stakeholder relationships, and support commissioning, occupancy handover, warranty, post-occupancy support, and lessons learned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • EIT, P.Eng., CET, Gold Seal Certification, PMP, or equivalent project delivery certification or eligibility for registration with a provincial engineering association is preferred
  • 3-8 years of construction experience in residential, commercial, institutional, or modular projects; multi-storey residential experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and field construction activities; modular construction knowledge is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site operations, project controls, documentation, and structural, civil, architectural, building envelope, and MEP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Procore; able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic construction environment..
  • Experience with modular residential construction, CCDC contracts, construction administration, commissioning, and residential building turnover.
