Job Summary

The Sales Director is responsible for the strategy, execution, and performance of ProCogia's sales function across North America. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role owns new business development, revenue growth, and client retention, while building and leading a high-performing sales organization aligned with ProCogia's growth trajectory and culture.

The Sales Director will develop and administer a sales program that effectively drives ProCogia's expansion goals — determining team structure, hiring and development needs, compensation and incentive design, and go-to-market approach for engaging prospective clients. This includes staffing and directing the sales team, establishing plans and strategies to grow ProCogia's client base, and contributing to the training and development of the sales organization. As ProCogia continues to scale, the Sales Director will play a critical role in shaping how the sales function is structured to maximize client contact, pipeline growth, and long-term revenue impact — while embodying ProCogia's close-knit, growth-minded culture.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Vancouver, BC, with budget oversight and direct reports to be determined as the team scales.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership:

  • Meet pre-determined revenue growth goals through the activities of the sales team.
  • Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing team members through motivation, counselling, skills development, and product knowledge development.
  • Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization's presence.
  • Lead and schedule weekly and/or monthly and/or quarterly sales team meetings with the sales team and leadership.
  • Embody company culture and maintain high sales employee engagement.
  • Provide direct selling and co-selling service and support for key accounts and strategic partners.
  • Provide quote and proposal development support for complex projects to the sales team, and educate them on creating similar proposals or quotes in the future.
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales tools and applications.
  • Follow, train, and ensure adherence to all sales, pricing, and customer service processes and policies.

Client Retention:

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

New Business Development:

  • Prospect for potential new key or strategic accounts and convert these into increased business.
  • Cold call as appropriate to help develop markets in geographic or target verticals to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential key clients and the decision makers within client organizations.
  • Research and build relationships with new key clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers, ProCogia leadership, and the sales team.
  • Plan and execute approaches and pitches and share best practices with the sales team.
  • Work with the sales team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Use a variety of styles to negotiate appropriately.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.

Business Development Planning:

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with senior leadership on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop ProCogia's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Maintain deep familiarity with the data and AI consulting landscape, including emerging trends in data engineering, analytics, machine learning, and AI adoption across enterprise clients.
  • Leverage existing relationships and credibility within the data/AI/analytics consulting space to accelerate ProCogia's entry into new accounts and verticals.
  • Translate technical data and AI capabilities into business value propositions that resonate with client stakeholders across technical and executive audiences.
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape of data consulting and professional services firms, using this knowledge to position ProCogia's differentiators in complex, technical sales cycles.

Personnel:

  • Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each sales team member, set individual targets, and administer the compensation plan.
  • Personally observe the performance of sales team members in the field on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for the planning, recruitment, direction, organization, and control of the sales team to accomplish specific objectives.
  • Provide high standards of ongoing training for sales team members so they possess sufficient technical knowledge to present ProCogia's services accurately.
  • Train new salespeople to ensure success.
