Job description
Overview We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to take ownership of full-cycle payroll processing while serving as a trusted resource for associates. In this role, you'll combine your technical payroll expertise with analytical thinking and process improvement skills to ensure associates are paid accurately and on time. You'll also play a key role in optimizing payroll operations, mentoring team members, and supporting HR technology initiatives. This position is fully on-site. Essential Functions Responsible for full cycle payroll including year-end reporting, tax forms, and Records of Employment across multiple Canadian jurisdictions Prepare and execute bi-weekly payroll ensuring accurate processing using time/attendance and payroll systems Assist associates with complex payroll and time/attendance related questions Calculate source deductions and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies Monitor payroll email and execute necessary actions Ensure that payroll tax procedures are compliant with all government regulations Develop and participate in the implementation of process improvements for efficient payroll processing Responsible for year-end balancing and T4 filing Monitor and process restricted, deferred and special stock options to ensure all are updated accurately Resolve discrepancies referred by government, provincial and local agencies Collaboration with third party payroll service provider Review for auditing/compliance setting up and processing garnishments, child support orders Create and/or provide requested reports using payroll reporting tools Manage resources to meet goals and lead assigned payroll initiatives Ensure compliance with HR related legislation and company policies Perform other job-related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-jurisdiction Canadian payroll processing Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, year-end processing, and compliance requirements Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Experience mentoring or training team members and contributing to team success Desired Qualifications Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute Experience with UKG Pro, including Time & Attendance and Reporting modules Knowledge of Record and Information Management Experience supporting HRIS or payroll system implementations and enhancement Company Information At Garmin Canada, we create more than just products – we inspire solutions and innovations that change and shape how we live, work and play.
