Job description
St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools invites applications for a temporary full-time Grade 5 teaching position at Ecole Notre Dame School in Leduc, Alberta. This position will begin September 22,2025 and end June 26, 2026. Ability to assist in the schools co-curricular and extra-curricular programs would be considered an asset. Possessing a certificate in Catholic Education from St. Joseph's College is an asset. Leduc, a city of 31,000 people, is located 33 kilometers south of Edmonton and is part of the Edmonton Capital Region metropolitan area. Located at the crossroads of air, highway and rail transportation, Leduc is a growing, dynamic city in the heart of Canada’s economic engine. With a bustling arts and culture scene, ample natural spaces, and community groups run by dedicated volunteers, Leduc is as friendly as it is active. At Ecole Notre Dame School, they believe in living in relationship with Jesus, sharing the Good News with others, loving unconditionally, so that everyone can realize his/her God given gifts, and learning to be lifelong learners. Serving nearly 420 Leduc and area students, Notre Dame is a pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 school with a wide variety of programming available. The school offers full-day Kindergarten and has recently introduced French Immersion. Also offered is an Athletics Excellence program with multiple activity opportunities with the main focus being either hockey or soccer. Applicants are encouraged to submit their resume along with two reference letters. A pastoral reference, although not required, would be considered an asset. This reference can be in the form of a standard letter or applicants may download the reference form available on the STAR Catholic website using the Careers link. Successful applicants will be required to submit a current (within 6 months)Criminal Record Check inclusive of a vulnerable sector check and a current Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (within 6 months).
