The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 to 150,000/year at the rank of Assistant Professor and $180,000 to 200,000/year at the rank of Associate Professor.
The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver campus () invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Structural and Earthquake Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. In exceptional cases, an Associate Professor (tenured or tenure track) may be considered. The Department of Civil Engineering is equipped with testing facilities, which include the Earthquake Engineering Research Facility and the Structures Laboratory. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in integrating these experimental resources into their research program. The successful applicant should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service.
The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027 or upon a date to be mutually agreed. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in the range $130,000 – 150,000/year at the rank of Assistant Professor and $180,000 – 200,000/year at the rank of Associate Professor. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent, internationally recognized research program, contribute to high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching and effective supervision of graduate students, and provide service to the University and the broader community.
