Job description

Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage arerequiredif renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid.Invinityprovidesan alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion because the battery technology that works so well in our pocketsdoesn’twork as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limitsuse, andeven catches fire.

Manufactured as a standardized product in a factory,Invinity’svanadium flow batteriesdon’tdegrade, won’tcatch fire, and can beoperatedcontinuously from full charge to full discharge for 25 years.Invinityhas 75,000 kilowatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries - more than any other company in the space. We’vedeployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and are supported by the UK Infrastructure Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, and some of the world’s leading institutional investors.

A compelling product and recent funding putInvinityin a position to grow dramatically as it addresses the global imperative for stationary energy storage. Join us as we help transform renewable energy into a stable and dependable contributor to the transition to net zero.

Invinityhas operations in the UK, Canada, the U.S., Australia, and China and trades publicly in the UK on AIM and AQSE and in the U.S. on OTCQX. For more information about us visit our webpage.

  • Strong foundation in mechanical design, structural analysis, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Experience developing products for manufacture using low- and high-volume production processes, including machining, forming, injection moulding, and plastic welding.
  • Experience designing sealing solutions for batteries, fuel cells, or other fluid-handling systems.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and commissioning prototype mechanical systems, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD design and modelling, preferably using Onshape and/or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with energy storage technologies, flow batteries, fuel cells, or related electrochemical systems is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative technology development environment.
