About WaterAid

We’re a global federation driven by one vision: a world where everyone, everywhere has clean water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030. Powered by our values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation, we work alongside communities, partners and supporters to make change happen.

About the role

Reporting to the head of Program Management, the Program Coordinator provides administrative, coordination, and project management support to WaterAid Canada’s International Programs (IP) team. This is an entry-level position well suited to an early-career professional interested in international development, project management, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), donor compliance, business development and knowledge management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project Coordination and Administrative Support
  • Knowledge Management and Documentation
  • Donor Reporting and Compliance Support
  • Communications and Visibility Support

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, including internships or co-op placements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. WaterAid Canada is an English speaking work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • An interest in international development, WASH, and gender equality.
  • The ability to travel to Toronto and/or Ottawa for quarterly, annual or ad hoc internal and external meetings and to attend conferences.
  • Willingness to work outside of the typical 9am to 5pm hours (early morning or evening) due to the requirement to work with WaterAid federation colleagues based in various parts of the world (namely Africa, Asia, the UK and Europe) with significantly different time zones.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you have:

  • The ability to work in French is considered a strong and desirable asset.
  • International travel is NOT a core part of this position, however, applicants must show a willingness to travel to international locations to support on-going programming or other assigned activities on the rare occasion where the need arises
