Role Description
The Technical Lead, Platform Architecture is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. This is a hands-on role responsible for taking Wafr's AI-driven data center infrastructure platform from prototype to production: architecting, building, deploying, and scaling the backend while leading a small team of engineers and staying hands-on in implementation. The Technical Lead owns critical infrastructure decisions across cloud platforms, frameworks, and languages, designs and runs CI/CD and DevOps automation, builds and maintains backend systems, APIs, and orchestration services, and translates thermal, power, and closed-loop control requirements into platform architecture (no direct OT/industrial-systems engineering required). The role sets the bar for security, uptime, observability, and incident response, and helps shape technical strategy as Wafr scales, including mentoring, weighing in on hiring, and setting technical standards.
