We now seek a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school environments, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as the public advocate for a movement rooted in rigorous learning science. You will own the academic strategy in action, establish clear performance standards, surface execution weaknesses, and develop high-performing teams to achieve measurable outcomes. You will transform our scientific principles into operational rigor and advocate for this model on a global stage. What You Will Be Doing

Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum development, motivational systems, and application design. Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm that school teams remain aligned, accountable, and performance-driven. Integrating data, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most significant barriers to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions. Ensuring strategic coherence through planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on student learning objectives. Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings—from keynote addresses to meetings with Ministries of Education—shaping how education systems globally understand schooling. What You Won’t Be Doing

Engaging in fragmented curriculum initiatives that fail to generate systemic impact. Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or implementation. Transferring accountability for performance to middle management or external advisors. Depending on institutional prestige or abstract models to convince critical audiences. Director Of Learning Science Key Responsibilities

Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by standardizing execution across school sites, raising leadership expectations, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated impact. Basic Requirements

Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc. Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment) Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting About 2 Hour Learning

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
