Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer the 3rd Class Power Engineer performs a variety of tasks that ensure the safe efficient and continuous operation of the chiller plants all high pressure steam equipment pressure vessels water treatment programs and all related auxiliary equipment as well as building mechanical systems at their assigned site.
The 3rd Class Power Engineer completes rounds of building mechanical rooms and must have a basic understanding of other building maintenance trades as he inspects various mechanical systems ex: medical gas/air/vacuum system air handling units (ventilation) heating systems fire water pumping system. The 3rd Class Power Engineer is also responsible for silent hour emergency calls.
