Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Java Microservices Engineer (Digital Asset Management) to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka. The role involves building secure, high-performance microservices, integrating enterprise systems, and supporting digital asset management platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in microservices architecture, REST APIs, cloud technologies, and backend system design, along with the ability to mentor team members and drive engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, development, and implementation of Java-based microservices and backend solutions using SpringBoot and related frameworks.
• Develop REST APIs, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and high performance of microservices architecture.
• Implement and manage integrations using Kafka and other messaging systems to enable seamless data communication.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to clearly define technical requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers, promoting best practices in Java, microservices architecture, and software engineering.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, code reviews, and development processes to maintain high-quality software delivery.
• Drive continuous improvements in software development processes, tools, and architecture patterns.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Java development, SpringBoot, microservices, and digital asset/content management domains.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing systems, resolving complex technical issues effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE software development with proven expertise in Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based solutions using Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in building and consuming REST APIs and extensive knowledge of integration patterns.
• Deep experience with Kafka for event-driven architecture and asynchronous communication.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities within software engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, and other security best practices.
• Ability to thrive in an agile development environment.
• Familiarity with Datadog and Splunk for log monitoring.

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of digital asset management and content management concepts is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with data governance and security practices.
• Knowledge of Nuxeo platform is desired.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure is preferred.

Domain Experience:

• Previous exposure to retail domain and retail-specific data systems would be a plus.
