Job description

The Product Management team drives Asana’s product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for team productivity and collaboration. We're defining a new category of technology as the humanagent operating system by inventing new ways for teams to work together more efficiently. Our team works directly with Engineering, Design, Experience Research, and Data Science, as well as with Sales, Support, and Marketing to ship great products. You’ll take part in every type of product work here, from strategy to product to process improvements, by conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on Asana itself for millions of teams around the world.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Enterprise Data Governance team. Our team owns the strategic platform capabilities that govern the full lifecycle of customer data, including retention, migration, auditing, export, and operational governance. We are foundational to Asana's enterprise success, providing the controls and policy frameworks that allow large organizations to meet complex regulatory requirements and securely adopt AI. As a Product Manager here, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and enterprise customer needs, partnering closely with Engineering, Security, Legal, and Design to reduce operational burden and build the governance foundation that helps people and AI agents collaborate safely at scale. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of enterprise trust, regulatory compliance, and platform strategy, directly driving Asana’s growth in highly regulated industries.

This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner.

What you’ll achieve

  • Define and execute the long-term strategy and roadmap for Enterprise and Data Governance, building the platform capabilities that help organizations securely adopt AI while meeting evolving security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the product strategy for customer data lifecycle management, including retention, migration, auditing, export, deletion, recovery, and governance controls that are foundational to enterprise trust.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Compliance, Support, and GTM teams to deliver governance capabilities that serve the needs of the world’s largest enterprises and highly regulated industries.
  • Build the governance foundation for human and AI agents by developing policy controls, auditability, data governance, and administrative capabilities that enable safe, transparent, and compliant AI at scale.
  • Drive strategic investments that improve the reliability, operability, and scalability of critical governance infrastructure while reducing operational burden for customers and internal teams.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to anticipate emerging regulations and translate them into platform capabilities that accelerate enterprise adoption and strengthen customer trust.
  • Define measurable business outcomes and success metrics across enterprise trust, governance adoption, operational efficiency, and platform reliability, using data and AI to prioritize investments and guide execution.

About you

  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
  • 6+ years of experience in Product Management, with deep expertise in identity/authentication systems, security, regulatory compliance, or B2B enterprise platform solutions.
  • Highly comfortable modeling complex data relationships, managing integration complexity, and translating technical protocols into clear, holistic UX flows.
  • Experienced in owning strategy for problem spaces that require coordination across multiple teams, evaluating competing investment options, and anticipating market shifts or security threats ahead of results.
  • Proven ability to build durable alignment across teams by navigating disagreement, resolving conflicts, and leading executive-facing reviews and discussions.
  • Skilled at orchestrating delivery across multiple teams, thoughtfully sequencing platform initiatives, and prioritizing high-craft MVPs.
  • Passionate about mentoring other PMs, raising the bar for product craft across teams, and evangelizing PM best practices throughout the R&D organization.

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What we’ll offer

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value based on a pay equity audit we conduct yearly.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $176,000 - $200,000 (senior) or for the right candidate, $211,000 - $240,000 CAD (principal). The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity and benefits.
