Job description
Senior Supply Planner

As our Senior Supply Planner, you will own supply planning for a broad and complex portfolio representing a high volume of SKUs.

With deep experience in supply planning for CPG organizations, you will continuously analyze demand forecast accuracy, inventory levels, vendor performance, supply constraints, and capacity limitations to avoid overstocks and out-of-stock scenarios.

You will manage inventory deployment relative to age, transitions, innovation plans, and sales targets. Your decisions and recommendations will have a meaningful impact on revenue, customer service, COGS, write-offs, and EBITDA.

Working alongside Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Logistics, Order Management, Finance, and external manufacturing partners, you will influence and lead the supply-planning work required to deliver our business objectives, driving forward the mission to Kick Sugar, Keep Candy!

You will also act as a trusted source of supply-planning knowledge for the team, alongside the Director, and help strengthen planning practices, standardization, systems, and decision quality.

This role reports to Director, Supply Chain Operations and will be hybrid in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time role and core collaboration hours are 9 a.m.–3 p.m. PST.

We are proudly Female-Founded and on our way to kicking 5.5 billion grams of excess sugar out of candy in a single year, what we call our Mission to Mars. 🚀

How You Will Support Our Mission (Responsibilities):

Supply Planning
  • Own and continuously optimize a 12-month rolling supply plan and Ending Inventory/Weeks on Hand model delivering monthly inventory and service-level targets by SKU.
  • Develop and manage capacity-analysis tools to monitor production capability, proactively identify constraints, model scenarios, and recommend solutions that optimize external manufacturing workflows and business outcomes.
  • Oversee the end-to-end purchase-order lifecycle for assigned external manufacturing partners, ensuring first-time-right execution and timely resolution of complex supply, capacity, cost, and service risks.
  • Lead advanced analysis and scenario planning for business-critical needs, including new product launches, promotional activity, lead-time changes, inventory investments, production-schedule adherence, supply interruptions, and product transitions.
  • Partner with Finance and cross-functional leaders to recommend actions that balance service, inventory, capacity, and financial outcomes.
  • Govern master-data integrity for new SKU setups and transitions, establishing clear standards, controls, and accountabilities across the planning process.
  • Maintain oversight of co-manufacturer outputs and network inventories, focusing on exceptions, emerging risks, and decisions requiring senior-level judgment or cross-functional alignment.
  • Own the departmental write-off target and the final inventory destruction/donation process for the senior portfolio, preventing aging stock through early risk identification and cross-functional mitigation plans.
  • Lead supply-planning readiness for innovation and commercialization projects, ensuring assumptions, timelines, capacities, lead times, inventory exposure, and transition plans are understood before launch.
  • Work closely with Logistics to address First Expire, First Out non-adherence and identify systemic opportunities to improve inventory deployment.
  • Partner with Order Management, Sales, and other stakeholders on inventory allocation, rush requests, and expedited shipments, making recommendations when supply cannot fully support demand or commercial priorities.
  • Lead SKU conversion and transition planning to minimize service disruption, excess inventory, and write-off exposure.

Process Optimization, Systems, and Reporting

  • Generate key supply-chain reports, providing strategic analysis to executive management while maintaining data integrity across Supply Chain scorecards.

  • Lead monthly co-manufacturer performance reviews and other planning forums, documenting risks, decisions, accountabilities, and corrective-action plans.
  • Drive supply-chain optimization and continuous improvement of ERP systems by developing new tools, tracking KPIs, introducing automation, and playing a leading role in system design, user testing, and process adoption.
  • Spearhead the documentation of supply-planning processes through SOPs, establishing and promoting best practices, controls, and standardized ways of working across the broader team.
  • Identify recurring planning issues, determine root causes, and lead cross-functional improvements that strengthen service, inventory productivity, forecast execution, and decision-making.
  • Provide planning coverage and decision support across the broader portfolio when required by business priorities, launches, or supply disruptions.
  • Ad hoc projects as requested.
What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in inventory management or production/supply planning, including ownership of a large, complex, or business-critical portfolio. Food CPG experience is strongly preferred.
  • APICS/CPIM designation is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external manufacturing networks is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing a high volume of SKUs and leading complex new-product launches, product transitions, promotions, and supply-recovery plans while balancing competing priorities and maintaining service-level commitments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, inventory optimization, capacity planning, safety stock, lead times, production scheduling, and supply-planning best practices.
  • Advanced ability to assess the financial implications of supply decisions, including revenue exposure, customer-service impact, COGS and write-offs.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of how Supply Planning connects with Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Finance, Logistics, Order Management, and external manufacturing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems. NetSuite experience is an asset.
  • Proven background in physical and system inventory reconciliations.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability, and the ability to turn complex data into clear business recommendations.
  • Self-motivated and agile, with sound judgment to drive change and adapt quickly in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where priorities and supply conditions shift frequently.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize simultaneous projects and high-impact analysis requests.
  • Able to work autonomously, make well-reasoned recommendations, and deliver high-quality results under strict deadlines in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate complex supply issues to senior leaders.
  • Desire to live and breathe our core values, be fired up by our #kicksugar mission, and have fun.
