Job description

Corvus Consulting Inc. is a leader in providing environmental and regulatory consulting services. We specialize in supporting our clients to achieve compliance with current municipal, provincial, and federal regulations while working towards more sustainable and responsible business solutions. We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Environmental Coordinator to support the Corvus team with our exciting and expanding project and client base.

What You’ll Do

Support the planning, preparation, review, and submission of regulatory applications, amendments, notifications, and post-approval filings for energy and industrial projects.

Interpret and apply requirements of the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), British Columbia Energy Regulator (BCER), Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources, Canada Energy Regulator, and other authorities, as applicable.

Prepare regulatory scopes, application checklists, schedules, technical attachments, notices, and supporting documentation for facilities, pipelines, wells, and related infrastructure.

Review engineering drawings, process descriptions, project data, and third-party reports for consistency with regulatory requirements and the proposed application scope.

Coordinate inputs from engineering, operations, land, environment, air quality, noise, emergency response, Indigenous engagement, and other technical specialists.

Complete submissions using regulatory systems such as AER OneStop and DDS, BCER AMS and KERMIT, and Saskatchewan IRIS, based on project needs and experience.

Track application status, approval conditions, regulatory commitments, reporting deadlines, and follow-up actions; identify gaps and escalate schedule or compliance risks.

Support responses to regulator questions, supplemental information requests, audits, inspections, and non-routine compliance matters.

Prepare clear regulatory correspondence, compliance summaries, meeting materials, and internal guidance for clients and project teams.

Assist with environmental approvals and compliance programs, including EPEA, Water Act, monitoring, reporting, and consultant coordination, as required.

Support Alberta and British Columbia environmental assessment and permitting processes, including coordination of technical studies and application components, where required.

Contribute to regulatory and environmental due diligence reviews and liability assessments for acquisitions, divestitures, and other asset transactions.

Help communicate technical and regulatory results to clients, regulators, industry representatives, and other interested parties in a clear and practical manner.

Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, project controls, and delivery of work within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.

Stay current on regulatory changes and help translate new or revised requirements into practical actions for clients.

What You Bring

A diploma or degree in environmental science, engineering technology, planning, natural resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of relevant regulatory experience in the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sector; strong candidates with a different level of experience are also encouraged to apply.

Hands-on experience supporting regulatory applications, approvals, or compliance activities, preferably involving the AER and/or BCER.

An understanding of how regulatory, environmental, land, engineering, construction, and operational requirements connect throughout a project lifecycle.

Strong technical writing, document review, research, organization, and follow-through skills.

Ability to manage several priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Sound judgment and the confidence to ask questions, identify missing information, and communicate potential regulatory risks.

A collaborative, client-service mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Assets

Experience with facility and pipeline licensing, Directive 056, Manual 012, EPEA approvals, Water Act approvals, or operational compliance reporting.

Experience with AER OneStop or DDS, BCER AMS or KERMIT, Saskatchewan IRIS, or other online regulatory submission systems.

Consulting experience, including scope development, budget tracking, delivery of high-quality work products, and direct client communication.

Familiarity with air, noise, water, waste, emergency planning, public involvement, or Indigenous consultation requirements.

A professional designation or eligibility for registration with an applicable professional organization.
