Our client is seeking a motivated and resilient Bilingual French & English Collections Agent to join their growing financial services team in Barrie, Ontario. Compensation: $40,000 to $58,000 annually, including base salary and average commission earnings.

Work Location: In-office, Barrie, Ontario

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Flexible availability required between Monday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do

As a Bilingual Collections Agent, you will work directly with both French-speaking and English-speaking customers to resolve overdue accounts, negotiate repayment arrangements, and support positive customer outcomes while meeting collection goals.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue and delinquent accounts
• Negotiate payment arrangements within approved guidelines
• Create customized repayment solutions based on customer circumstances
• Manage accounts across multiple stages of delinquency
• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound collection calls in a KPI-driven environment
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment commitments
• Educate customers on account status and available payment options
• Follow company policies and regulatory standards for collections activity
• Assess account risk and escalate files when appropriate
• Meet individual and team recovery targets
• Deliver professional customer service while balancing collection objectives
• Support additional collections-related duties as required

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal
• Previous collections experience within telecom, banking, lending, financial services, or consumer collections environments
• Comfortable working in a high-volume call centre setting
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Resilient and confident handling difficult conversations professionally
• Motivated by performance goals and commission incentives
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Able to adapt to rotating schedules and changing priorities
• Comfortable working onsite in Barrie, Ontario
• Full schedule flexibility required, including occasional Saturdays
