The Position
This position will be based at ExCel Discovery and will include direct involvement and support of the program, staff team, youth, and community partners. This position will be part of the Enviros leadership team and will ensure that day-to-day operations follow program protocols and Enviros policy.
Responsibilities - Supervise a team of staff members up to 12 individuals
- Consultation and reporting to the Custody Operations Branch
- Collaborating with the Calgary and Edmonton Young Offenders Center
- Ensure all Accreditation standards are upkept and met
- Completion and overseeing of documentation and case management
- Complete scheduling to ensure program is properly staffed
- Active member of the leadership team
- Oversee and approve staff timesheets, and time-off
- Supports group care on-call on a rotational basis
- Attend all leadership meetings
- Conduct staff meetings
- Along with the program manager, ensure that the budget is reviewed and adhered to
- Provide regular supervision of staff members
- Provide support when needed to clients
- Recruitment, staff performance evaluations and staff training as required by CAC guidelines and ensure all staff training are current
- Oversee household health and safety standards and overall housekeeping duties

Education & Experience · Post-secondary education in a Human Services related field · Experience and demonstrated skills in supervising staff · Experience working with youth affected by trauma · Experience/ Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is considered an asset · CPR and first aid certification
Other Qualifications · Valid Class 5 driver’s license ( Class 5 GDL will not be accepted) · A clean driver’s abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offence · Police Record Check with Vulnerable sector check ( within six (6) months) · Child Intervention Check (within six (6) months)
