Job description

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead the procurement function within a growing organization. If you are a self-starter with strong procurement skills and a passion for optimizing supply chains, we encourage you to apply.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all procurement activities.
  • Source and procure production materials, repair parts, consumables, maintenance services, and equipment rentals.
  • Build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Maintain inventory levels and accurate inventory records to support production.
  • Manage the procurement process, including RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, purchase orders, and capital asset requisitions.
  • Coordinate deliveries and verify the accuracy of received goods.
  • Resolve purchasing, billing, invoice, and material discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, maintenance, shipping, and accounting to support operational requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or economics, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
  • Previous experience in procurement within construction or manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a significant asset.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
