Job description

Within a stimulating and performance-driven insurance environment, you will actively intervene to offer client-focused disability management services.

Your main mission will consist of proactively taking charge of the monitoring of disability files assigned to you (including short-term disability [STD], long-term disability [LTD], as well as life insurance premium waivers). To best support insured individuals during their leave, you will need to analyze medical data, evaluate the requirements of their professional duties, build relevant intervention strategies, and structure return-to-work plans.

Employment Details and Conditions
Status: Regular, full-time position (permanent).
Location: Langley, BC (Hybrid formula: 1 to 2 days per week in person, 3 to 4 days working from home).
Salary: From 70,000 to 85,000 per year (established according to profile and experience) + access to an annual bonus.

Required Profile and Requirements:
-Required Experience
-A minimum of 2 years of experience in one of the following sectors: health, wellness, disability case management, life/health insurance, or injury claims processing.

-Pass a satisfactory credit check.

Obtaining Reliability Status: This security level requires having lived in Canada continuously during the 5 years preceding the application (this condition related to residence history applies independently of your citizenship or immigration status).

Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities and Security Requirements:
- Portfolio Management: Take charge of a pool of disability cases, ensuring that each claim is processed rigorously and in compliance with established deadlines.
- Medical Analysis: Thoroughly examine medical reports to validate eligibility for benefits and plan future interventions.
- Human Accompaniment: Demonstrate great empathy by supporting insured individuals going through complex life trials or trying situations.
- Strategic Communication: Ensure smooth and clear exchanges with beneficiaries, healthcare professionals, and different internal departments.
- Respect for Standards: Work in strict compliance with the organization's internal directives as well as the regulatory framework in force.
- Absolute Confidentiality: Handle medical, personal, and sensitive data related to disability files with the utmost discretion.
- Government Security: Hold (or be in a position to obtain) a security clearance at the Reliability level, allowing access to Protected B category information.

Qualifications
Required Profile and Skills Required:
- Professional Experience: Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical sector, wellness management, disability or injury claims processing, or the field of group insurance (life and health).
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent listening capacity and superior skills in interpersonal communication.
- Resilience and Rigor: Proven ability to process sensitive or highly confidential files under pressure, while maintaining great attention to detail in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
- Professionalism: Ability to defuse and resolve complex situations in a rigorous and diplomatic manner.
- Technical and Organizational Skills: Developed sense of organization and very good comfort level with current technological tools.
- Linguistics: Imperative mastery of English
- Government Requirements and Hiring Criteria:
- Access to this position is conditional upon obtaining a Government of Canada reliability status (Protected B).
