What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the preparation and review of electrical engineering documentation, including specifications, calculations, and design drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on electrical engineering matters.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the engineering team.
• Ensure that all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that engineering deliverables are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
• Contribute to the development of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Enfinite's engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate materials and equipment for electrical systems, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Alberta or eligibility for registration.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar applications.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering and renewable energy.

Nice to have

• Experience with energy storage systems and microgrid design.
• Knowledge of power electronics and control systems.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric systems.
• Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within an engineering team.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
