Job description
Job Description Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to work in our Forensic Program. As an RPN, you will provide specialized care to patients with complex mental illnesses by using a recovery focused model of care, built upon compassion, inspiration and hope. You will be an active and equal member of the interprofessional team.

Program Overview The Forensic Program consists of the Secure Forensic Service with three units providing assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for patients ordered by courts or the Ontario Review Board (ORB) who require higher security accommodation. The Forensic Rehabilitation Unit also serves both forensic and non‑forensic clients. The General Forensic Service, comprised of three units, provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for patients ordered by courts or ORB requiring lower security accommodation. The Forensic Outpatient Service provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for patients ordered by courts or ORB who reside in the community.

Please Note Although the vacancy is for the Forensic Rehabilitation Unit (FRU), all Registered Practical Nurses must be able to work in any area of the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as patient needs dictate. FYI, FRU contains a PICA where staff will be required to work and cover.
