Under the direction of Food and Beverage Manager; Event Supervisor duties will include, but are limited to oversees all aspects of a events, including set-up, food service, bar service and controls while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service. Event Centre Supervisors are also responsible for training and coaching of the event center F&B staff, while providing great customer experience.

Job Description

Under the direction of Food and Beverage Manager; Event Supervisor duties will include, but are limited to oversees all aspects of a events, including set-up, food service, bar service and controls while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service. Event Centre Supervisors are also responsible for training and coaching of the event center F&B staff, while providing great customer experience.

Education Required

• Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Remains alert of complaints and or/unsatisfied guests and responds in a timely and efficient manner using tact and professionalism; to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations.
• Supervise employees ensuring the appropriate and efficient completion of job functions, and that customer and staff member needs are addressed while maintaining both their safety and a high level of customer service.
• Supervise all set up and breakdown is completed in timely manner as per the event order.
• Supervises and checks setup accuracy. Ensures all rooms and bar are properly “set up” including dishware, glassware, silverware, linens and other amenities and rooms are "refreshed" to maintain professional presentation of the room during meeting breaks with non-interference of presentation material.
• Ensuring scheduled staff arrives on time, have attended to personal hygiene and grooming, are dressed in proper uniform requirements, and issued equipment and supplies as necessary.
• Constantly supervising all food handling to ensure the highest level of sanitation is maintained throughout all food service areas.
• Required to attend or lead pre-shift meetings, staff meetings, shift preparation, service and closing duties.
• Ensuring timesheets for staff are completed and submitted for signature. Ensuring employee breaks are allocated and calculated.
• Using exceptional attention to detail, reads, interprets and expedites instructions on the event order and diagrams precisely and in a timely manner.
• Supervises bar operations and follows the proper control procedures.
• Ensures health, safety and cleanliness standards are maintained in all areas of event center.
• Able to do billing and have knowledge in point-of-sale systems.
• Accurately perform administrative tasks as required.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Requirements

• Prior supervisor experience would be an asset.
• Ability to understand various types of equipment and set up styles for events, including basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Ability to understand and follow directions as per the event order and floor plan for set ups.
• Basic knowledge of AV and electrical equipment set up processes would be an asset.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Adept at understanding guest’s service needs
• Clear thinker who can remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
• Ability to operate all necessary equipment such as moving carts, cargo truck, etc.
• Willingness to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with grooming standards
• Valid and clean drivers’ license is an asset.
• Valid AGLC Pro Serve is a must.
