As a SYNC Test Engineer the candidate will be involved in full lifecycle of embedded software development on Ford SYNC system. Test engineers will be responsible for testing and validating the next generation application frameworks which are to provide various common services and APIs for the UI applications and services using various testing frameworks which will involve creating scripts and test apps using Python C Java Kotlin.

What youll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Create and review plans to test and verify the functionality of APIs and Features.
• Develop and execute Python/C/Java/Kotlin-based functional test scripts and apps.
• Create detailed defect reports when found.
• Participate in system design documentation and testing to deliver a best-in-class infotainment system.

Qualifications

Youll have...

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Python/C/Java/Kotlin software testing experience on embedded mobile or consumer electronic platforms.
• Experience with functional testing and testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.

Education:

• Masters degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.

Experience:

• 5 years of the aforementioned software testing experience.
• Experience with multi-process multi-tasking or multi-threaded applications.
• Experience testing software on embedded operating systems (Linux Android or QNX).
• Knowledge of automotive product development and quality processes (e.g. A-SPICE CMMI FMEA).
• Experience with communication protocols (e.g. CAN TCP/IP USB Bluetooth Ethernet Wi-Fi).
• Proficiency with version control systems (e.g. Git Subversion).
• Experience generating test cases from requirements and automating tests using LLMs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $89000.00 to $139000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.

Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
