The Role

Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle technology Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation is the norm If so we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Senior Controls Developer specializing in vehicle dynamic controls and software implementations.

Our team is working on advanced control methods to design and develop driveline systems for a wide range of vehicles and functions: from trailer braking control for trucks to electronically locking differentials for off-roading vehicles to eLSD for the performance vehicles. We are looking for a senior controls developer that can lead the design and development of various vehicle dynamics related control features in collaboration with the system teams feature teams and calibration teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring optimal traction stability and vehicle dynamics while also maximizing energy efficiency and driver satisfaction.

There will also be the opportunity to work on GMs in-house software for mechanical AWD system.

What Youll Do

• Lead the design and development of various features such as trailer braking electronics locking differentials eLSD in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Develop and implement control and diagnostic algorithms using advanced tools such as MATLAB or C.

• Support the development of requirements and ensure compliance with safety and government regulations.

• Analyze vehicle dynamic conditions and provide feedback on feature/system design.

• Define software unit tests conduct hardware-in-the-loop and vehicle tests and ensure thorough software testing.

• Support resolution of vehicle plant or customer issues related to controls and calibration.

• Mentor new team members to foster capability growth and knowledge sharing.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering Computer Science or related fields

• Knowledge of and minimum3years of experience in controls system development. Including:

  • Control system integration and testing of hardware and software.

  • Controller hardware design and failure modes of electronic modules.

  • Vehicle electrical systems and serial data communications architectures.

  • System software and hardware requirements development and validation.

  • Change management

• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

• Demonstrated proficiency in project management skills

• Experienced at planning preparing for and leading meetings

• Effective interpersonal skills that focus and influence others including those which may have priority differences with yours.

• Understanding of Embedded Controls Development & Delivery Process

• Experience in working with embedded system software codes; reading and debugging source code in C/C languages

• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modeling

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability for results

• Strong partnership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

• Highly proficient at analyzing unusual and complex issues while driving for results in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment

• Evidence of strong character with integrity honesty accountability and trust

• Consistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer-centric

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Masters degree in a field of Engineering Computer Science or related fields

• 7-10 years of experience in vehicle chassis controls system development including: driveline control development vehicle dynamics modeling brake systems.

• Agile development experience or certifications.

• Experience with customer interface technologies.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in the GM component specification and release process.

• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and electronic chassis systems.

• Knowledge of OBD-II diagnostics.

• Knowledge of automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL).

• DFSS Black Belt certification.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a Global environment.

• Experience in plant modeling and analysis tools MIL SIL HIL Testing

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $90900 to $136400. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
