Job Summary
Deliver accurate diagnostic laboratory testing and support clinical decision-making through timely processing and analysis of patient specimens. Maintain laboratory instruments perform quality control and communicate results according to professional standards.

Main Duties
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology clinical chemistry microbiology and transfusion medicine.
- Collect label receive and process patient specimens ensuring proper handling preservation and chain of custody.
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and related equipment and perform routine calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct and document quality control procedures participate in proficiency testing and escalate deviations for investigation.
- Record validate and report test results using laboratory information systems and communicate critical or urgent findings to clinical staff.
- Adhere to biosafety infection prevention and regulatory procedures and participate in continuous improvement and training activities.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized diploma or degree program in medical laboratory technology or equivalent education.
- Registration or certification with the appropriate provincial or national professional body where required.
- Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience or successful practicum placement in a clinical setting.
- Working knowledge of laboratory information systems standard operating procedures and documentation practices.
- Understanding of quality assurance biosafety hazardous materials handling and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work rotating shifts evenings or weekends as needed and to manage workload effectively under time constraints.
