Job description
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience within a Police/Court environment or a specialized area including at least two (2) years as a CPIC Information Operator I.
  • Extensive experience using EPROS/Niche UA JOIN CPIC and CPIC Web. Completion of the CPIC Maintenance Course would be an asset.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the CPIC system policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships promote teamwork and create a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Proven leadership ability able to make sound decisions and use good judgment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills demonstrating foresight and accountability in decision-making processes.
  • Identify and manage priorities in a high-pressured environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including fostering collaboration and trust during uncertain or challenging times.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide teams through periods of transition with confidence and empathy.
  • Proven experience in identifying mitigating and managing risks in a professional setting.
  • Able to accurately and efficiently input query interpret edit and relay information.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including the bending lifting of banker boxes etc.

Assets:

  • Previous supervisory experience of a team of 4 or more people
  • Successful completion of leadership training and/or certification
  • Successful completion of conflict resolution training and/or certification
  • Successful completion of Change Management training and/or Certification

Hours of Work: Rotating 12-hour shifts to provide 24-hour coverage 7 days per week.

Salary Range: 21B Salary Grade: 013 $28.64 - $35.92 (Hourly) $2291.80 - $2873.80 (Bi-Weekly) $59814.94 - $75005.14 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

Reporting to the CPIC Unit Supervisor the CPIC Operator II Team Lead must be able to work within a high-pressured environment to ensure the delivery of operational information and support to police personnel and authorized outside agencies. The CPIC Unit requires two (2) permanent individuals with excellent leadership customer service and communication skills to assume the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee daily operations providing leadership and guidance to CPIC Operator I in various roles.
  • Monitor workload equipment and systems for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare employee performance and development plans.
  • Development implementation and evaluation of training procedures programs and orientation processes
  • Provide ongoing support training coaching and mentoring to employees.
  • Ensure employee compliance with EPS and CPIC policies.
  • Enter audit and review and conduct maintenance of agency CPIC records and CPIC Purge reports to ensure accuracy and quality assurance standards are maintained.
  • Manage warrant files for and coordinate the return of arrested individuals from out of the province as required.
  • Participate in the hiring of and oversee training and development of new CPIC Operators.
  • Assist police personnel and related agencies with CPIC information.
  • Provide relief supervision acting as Unit Supervisor and other related duties as required.
