The successful candidate
will focus on developing and delivering educational content for high school Math and Sciences, specifically targeting the Alberta curriculum at the 20-1, 20-2, 30-1, and 30-2 levels. RequirementsThe successful candidate will: Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one. Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum. Hold a Bachelors degree of Education. A detailed description of the Role of the Teacher is available in Administrative Procedure 420 on the GYPSD Website. The Division Grande Yellowhead School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees. The Boards four main priorities are: Student Learning Teaching and Leadership Excellence Community Engagement System Health and Wellness GYPSD schools offer a broad range of JK-12 programs. Principals focus on strong instructional leadership using generative dialogue to support teacher growth and supervision. The Division is noted for its commitment to strong literacy practices infused across the curriculum, inclusive education and for its innovative technology programs. Benefits of GYPSD The Division is committed to strong professional development and each teacher and principal has the opportunity to apply for up to $2,500 per year to support professional learning. The Division also provides $725 per year for teachers to allocate within a Health and Wellness Spending Account.
