  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and corporate procedures while identifying and mitigating financial reporting and operational risks
  • Partner with Finance, Payroll, FP&A, and cost centre managers to support budgeting, financial reporting and strategic initiatives
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team by providing mentorship, training, performance feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or financial reporting
  • CPA designation required
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, close processes and account reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Accounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems, knowledge of Workday preferred

What Extendicare has to offer:

  • Continuous mentorship, support for life-long learning and growth opportunities
  • Opportunities for advancement and career growth within the organization
  • A rewarding and meaningful work experience where you can enrich your life and the lives of others through your work
  • Employee Family Assistance Program
  • Robust benefits package
  • We offer a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your health, financial well-being, and long-term career growth
