Job description

Our Story & Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As the Senior Manager, Intelligent Automation & Orchestration, you will lead the enterprise automation capability while evolving it into a productdriven, AIenabled orchestration function. The role expands beyond traditional RPA to drive endtoend orchestration across AI CoE pods (Automation, Applied ML, and GenAI), enabling integrated solutions that are usercentric, productionready, and reusable across the organization.

You will lead a team of automation engineers and drive the integration of RPA, AI/ML, and GenAI capabilities to deliver scalable, user‑centric solutions that improve member experience, operational efficiency, and decision quality. The incumbent applies a product management lens to automation capabilities—owning prioritization, roadmap, and value realization—and plays a key role in establishing standardized delivery patterns, platform alignment, and governance practices that support scalable AI adoption.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Vancity head office and will report directly to the Director, AI CoE. This role offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with candidates able to work from BC or Ontario.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Product Ownership & Roadmap Leadership

  • Owning the automation product roadmap, aligning priorities to business value, ROI, user impact, and scalability
  • Ensuring solutions are user‑centric across branch, operations, risk, and digital teams
  • Driving reuse across use cases and business units, reducing bespoke builds

Automation Design, Development & Production Readiness

  • Overseeing design, development, testing, and deployment of reliable, scalable, production‑ready automation solutions
  • Ensuring solutions are integrated into enterprise systems and workflows
  • Establishing standards for monitoring, observability, incident management, and operational support

Automation Strategy & CrossPod Orchestration

  • Defining and executing enterprise automation strategy aligned to AI CoE priorities, integrating AI/ML and GenAI capabilities into agentic workflows
  • Bridging Automation, Applied ML, and GenAI pods to deliver end‑to‑end, production‑ready solutions
  • Providing technical leadership for the Intelligent Automation pod and its talent base

  • Building reusable automation and orchestration patterns, including workflow automation, system integration, and AI + automation orchestration
  • Aligning delivery with Azure, Databricks, enterprise architecture, and core systems such as T24 and CRM

Vendor & Platform Oversight

  • Leading vendor and platform oversight across automation and AI platforms, including UiPath, Power Automate, and the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Ensuring solutions are cost‑effective, scalable, and aligned to long‑term platform strategy
  • Evaluating emerging tools and agentic AI capabilities for enterprise fit

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensuring automation solutions meet organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards
  • Partnering with Governance teams to embed controls, auditability, and risk management into delivery

Team Leadership & Orchestration

  • Leading and developing automation engineers and developers while fostering innovation, accountability, and high‑quality delivery
  • Acting as a business‑facing orchestration leader, partnering with Product, Operations, Risk, and IT to align delivery to outcomes

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 10+ years of experience in automation, enterprise technology, or digital delivery, with strong expertise in RPA and workflow orchestration
  • Demonstrated experience integrating automation with AI/ML/GenAI solutions and delivering end‑to‑end production outcomes
  • Strong product mindset, including roadmap ownership, value‑driven prioritization, and user‑centric design
  • Hands‑on experience with APIs, enterprise integration, Azure architectures, CI/CD, monitoring, production support, and programming in Python, VB.NET, C#, and SQL
  • Strong understanding of governance, auditability, compliance, and risk considerations in automated and AI‑driven processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology
  • Experience with workflow orchestration, queue management, and scheduling, including tools such as UiPath Orchestrator

Certifications• Certified Professional Specialized AI Professional Certification• Certified Professional Automation Developer
