Globe 24-7 is partnering with a mining client in British Columbia, to hire a Maintenance Millwright for their production plant based in Langley, BC. This role is offered as a full-time permanent position with a Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm, schedule

Position Overview

The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding industrial mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position plays a key role in minimizing unplanned downtime through preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and timely repairs while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls on industrial mechanical equipment to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and material handling systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions using sound troubleshooting techniques.
• Dismantle, align, assemble, and reassemble machinery, gear systems, bearings, and mechanical components using hoists, chain falls, slings, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Perform welding, cutting, soldering, fabrication, and component replacement as required to complete maintenance activities.
• Execute preventive maintenance inspections, document findings, and complete corrective work to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Clean, lubricate, adjust, test, and calibrate machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Operate, inspect, and test equipment to identify defects and verify repairs before returning equipment to service.
• Read and interpret work orders, mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, operating manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
• Fabricate replacement parts and modify equipment components when required.
• Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, aerial work platforms, and service vehicles as required.
• Maintain personal tools and ensure maintenance equipment is kept in safe operating condition.
• Conduct workplace inspections and maintain high housekeeping standards within maintenance and production areas.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance records.
• Participate in ongoing technical, equipment, and safety training to maintain current knowledge and skills.
• Support planned shutdowns, emergency repairs, and other maintenance activities to meet operational requirements.
• Perform assigned work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete additional maintenance and plant support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certification (or equivalent recognized trade certification) is required.
• Previous experience maintaining industrial mechanical equipment in a manufacturing, processing, mining, or heavy industrial environment preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and industrial maintenance practices.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, equipment alignment, and machinery rebuilds.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience completing maintenance records electronically.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and extended maintenance shutdowns as required.
• Must possess a complete set of personal hand tools.
• Physically capable of repeatedly lifting materials up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces, and performing physically demanding work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, vibration, fumes, and other environmental conditions.

The Rewards
The position offers a competitive remuneration package with a rate of $50.13/hour, regular overtime opportunities, and a comprehensive benefit package.

Please note this package is set up as per the currently implemented Collective Bargaining Agreement.
