Business Process Specialist, Markham, ON | ID #7074 PTAG is a Project Management Advisory & Services firm recognized across North America for helping organizations deliver complex projects and operational excellence. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Business Process Specialist to join our Business Operations team in Markham, Ontario.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Business Process Manager to document, analyze, improve, and standardize business processes across the organization. You'll collaborate with stakeholders from multiple departments to develop scalable workflows, create process documentation, support governance initiatives, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the business.

What You'll Do
As a Business Process Specialist, you will:
- Partner with business stakeholders to document, analyze, and improve business processes across multiple departments.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and workflow diagrams.
- Develop business process maps using BPMN and process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
- Gather and document business requirements for operational improvements and process enhancements.
- Support cross-functional process improvement initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Coordinate action items, follow-ups, and stakeholder communication across multiple business functions.
- Maintain process documentation and governance materials within SharePoint.
- Assist with KPI tracking, reporting, and process governance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and standardize business operations.
- Support organizational change and business transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of PTAG's Business Process Management (BPM) framework.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Business Process Management
- Business Process Improvement
- Business Analysis
- Continuous Improvement
- Operational Excellence
- Business Operations
- Experience documenting business processes and creating process workflows.
- Strong experience developing SOPs and operational documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with some or all of the following is considered an asset:
- BPMN 2.0
- Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar process mapping software
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Power BI (basic reporting)
- Jira or similar work management tools
- ERP systems (NetSuite is considered an asset)
Preferred Qualifications
The following would be considered strong assets:
- Lean or Six Sigma training or certification
- Business Process Management (BPM) certification or coursework
- Experience supporting ISO or Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Workshop facilitation experience
- Experience developing KPIs or operational dashboards
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or business transformation initiatives

- Coordinate project action items and stakeholder follow-ups.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date process documentation within SharePoint.
- Contribute to KPI reporting and ongoing process governance activities.
Salary Range for Role: $60,000 – $65,000 CAD Compensation at PTAG varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
