Job description

Juno Engineering Canada Inc. is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support the successful delivery of engineering projects across Western Canada. This role is well suited for someone with a strong technical background in engineering, technical sales, project coordination, or project management who can confidently manage client expectations, coordinate internal resources, and help ensure project deliverables are completed on time and aligned with project requirements.

About the Role

The Technical Project Manager will manage engineering projects across industrial, utility, energy, and infrastructure sectors. This includes coordinating project scope, schedules, communication, resources, deliverables, and client requirements while working closely with engineers, designers, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.

This role acts as a key connection point between clients and Juno’s internal engineering team. The successful candidate will be able to understand technical project requirements, communicate clearly, identify risks early, and help drive projects from proposal through execution and closeout.

At Juno, we empower our team to drive sustainable progress across energy, infrastructure, and industrial projects. With over 40 years of engineering excellence, we foster a collaborative, forward-thinking culture where strong communication, accountability, and technical coordination help deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution

  • Manage assigned projects from proposal and kickoff through design, procurement support, construction support, commissioning support, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, action logs, deliverable lists, meeting minutes, and project execution plans.
  • Track project progress, deliverable status, budgets, risks, and required inputs to support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate project status and deliverable progress with internal teams to support efficient project delivery.
  • Identify risks, delays, or scope changes early and work with the project team to develop practical, client-focused solutions.
  • Coordinate project resources with engineering discipline leads, designers, engineers, and management.

Client Communication and Expectations

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
  • Manage client expectations related to scope, schedule, deliverables, decisions, project status, and required inputs.
  • Lead or support client meetings, project updates, progress reviews, and technical coordination discussions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions, required inputs, and next steps clearly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive, professional, and solution-focused communication.

Technical Coordination

  • Review project requirements and coordinate with internal engineering teams to confirm scope, deliverables, priorities, and execution strategy.
  • Translate client requirements into clear direction for engineering and drafting teams.
  • Support technical discussions with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs to ensure engineering deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements.
  • Assist in resolving technical, coordination, and execution-related issues as they arise.
  • Support proposal development, project planning, estimates, schedules, and resource coordination.

Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement

  • Support Juno’s commitment to engineering excellence, safety, quality, and practical project delivery.
  • Ensure project documentation, communication, decisions, and deliverables are organized and properly maintained.
  • Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and clear communication across project teams.

Qualifications

Education and Background

  • Technical diploma, engineering degree, business degree with technical experience, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Background in engineering, technical sales, project management, construction coordination, or industrial project execution is preferred.
  • Project management training or certification is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical, project management, engineering, sales, or project coordination role.
  • Experience working with industrial, utility, energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, or construction-related projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, technical discussions, project schedules, deliverables, and project priorities.
  • Experience coordinating engineering deliverables and working with multidisciplinary teams is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with project stages such as proposals, FEED, detailed design, procurement support, construction, commissioning, and closeout is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to understand technical documents such as drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, estimates, and deliverable lists.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, project management software, or ERP/time tracking systems is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of electrical, instrumentation, controls, mechanical, or civil engineering deliverables is considered an asset.

Success in This Role Will Require

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage client expectations professionally and confidently.
  • Technical curiosity and the ability to understand engineering concepts at a project level.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Strong awareness of schedule, deliverable status, risk, and project execution needs.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project challenges.
  • A collaborative spirit aligned with Juno’s values of Connect, Cultivate, Create.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with flexible work arrangements available. Applicants must be able to work full-time in Canada and be available for occasional travel to client offices, vendor facilities, or project sites as required.
