Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As aBuilding & Facilities Operator you will support the safe efficient and reliable operation ofVancitysbuildings and facilities through daily monitoring basic troubleshooting and coordination with service vendors. This role plays a keypartin ensuring building systems run smoothly supporting occupant comfort regulatory compliance and operational continuity. We are looking for a hands-onsafetyâfocusedfacilities professional who is comfortable working on-site and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

This is aFull-time Permanentrole based at our Vancity facilities in Vancouver and will report directly to theManager Facilities Management. This role is Monday to Friday and 35 hours per week

How Youll Make an Impact:

  • Performing daily operational checks of HVAC pumps compressors and basic mechanical systems
  • Monitoring building systems and escalating mechanical or safety issues promptly
  • Completing routine preventative maintenance tasks such as filter changes lubrication and inspections
  • Supporting seasonal start-up and shutdown activities under guidance
  • Assistingwith water treatment monitoring and following regulatory compliance procedures
  • Coordinating vendor and contractor access for maintenance repairs and testing
  • Supporting emergency power life-safety and critical systems activities
  • Conducting daily rounds to helpmaintainoccupant comfort and building reliability

WhatYoullBring to the Team:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 13 years of experience in building operations facilities maintenance or a related technical environment
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical systems such as HVAC pumps and compressors
  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs
  • Ability to follow safety procedures regulatory requirements and organizational standards
  • Strong communicationskills to coordinate with vendors and escalate issues appropriately
  • Comfort working fully on-site in an operational facilities environment
  • Technical proficiency in Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation systems and service request/ticketing platforms (e.g. Facilities or CMMS systems) for effective monitoring troubleshooting and work order management.

  • Experience supporting datacentreor other critical environments
  • Familiarity with water treatment monitoring or basic chemical handling
  • Exposure to generator UPS or life-safety system testing

WhatYoullEarn:

This role offers a salary range ofâ$55300to $68250per annum.The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skillspreviousexperience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
