Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of the St. Boniface Hospital the Coordinator Education Services is responsible for: recruiting health care students for clinical experience coordinating utilization of clinical space for health care students developing and coordinating an orientation of new Clinical Education Facilitators; conducting needs assessment to establish priorities for Hospital wide educational initiatives; developing coordinating implementing and evaluating educational initiatives to support and facilitate organizational and service changes; participating in appropriate hospital committees task forces and advisory groups; performing other related duties.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in teaching program development and evaluation preferred.
  • Experience in designing and delivering educational initiatives to support and facilitate organizational and service changes in patient care areas throughout the facility required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • B.N. required.
  • Certificate in Adult Education would be asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of word processing e-mail PowerPoint and internet software applications required.
  • Excellent clinical and teaching skills required.
    Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria as applicable to the position: experience education patient care and clinical knowledge/skills leadership skills communication and interpersonal skills critical thinking and problem-solving skills quality improvement teaching skills research knowledge professional development and seniority.
  • Current reference(s) may be required upon request.
