Job description
The opportunity:The Employment Specialist Community/Employer Engagement & Retention Coachacts as a community and employer liaison to our Employmentserviceandto customers in their independent job search and providesin-depth information on the job search process its tools and related information in workshops information sessions and one-on-one either virtually or in of role:30% of this role is carryinga coachingcaseloadof Stream A(occasional Stream B)clients who are actively looking for workandare consideredclosestto additionthis individualwillprovidesupport to Job Coaches whohave clientsreturning to service from outcomes to job search. The goalwillistoreview and make recommendations to helpprovidenewin-depth information on the job search process its tools and related information in workshops information sessions and one-on-one either virtually or in objectivesecondopinion topromotea fullcircleexperience for clients who experience job loss in the 3-12 months post service.70% of this role involves community and employer Engagement & Retention Coachis knowledgeable about the communityitsbusinessesand services andisup to date on what is influencing the are specialists in the toolsrequiredto uncover hidden job market opportunities and develops jobs for the mutual benefit of the employer and job energy dynamicposition networks withemployers andcommunity partners attendsallbusinessassociationmeetings community events employer eventstorepresentEmployment Services and connects with employers to build strong new partnerships butmaintainexisting ones as role provideslabourmarket research support to job coaches meets all newemployersin the area to introduce them to our services completes employerregistrationsand performs all Health and Safety requirements as laid out in the funder guidelines to promote training incentive placementagreements. TheCommunity/Employer Engagement & Retention Coachmakesdecisions independently which support delivery ofservices andmeetcontractualobligations of our role involvesdisseminating and presenting relevantlabourmarket information toemployers andjob coachesandin addition will be theKey liaison with our tri-site Job Development coordinator and provides guidanceand trainingto job coachesand is responsible toorganize community events including but not limited to our YMCA annual Job Fair employer events/training andcreates local relevantemployer communicationsinconsultationwith Site this role you will: Be able to work independently whilemaintainingteam cohesionMeet client and employer Volume and Key Performance Indicators set out by Manager and SSMMust be available to work flexible hoursincluding eveningand weekend hours to accommodateoperational needs client needscommunity events serviceproviderand employer group meetingsMarket YMCA programs directly to employers using a structured marketing approach (prospecting needs analysis selling follow-up)Activelyparticipatesin business community events to foster andmaintainhigh visibility for the Employment Service and its servicesAssesses workplace environments and employers todetermineoverall suitability for client placement and related opportunitiesOffersvalue added workshopsand trainingforjob coachesclientsand employerspossessesadditionaltrainingto support Employment related workshopsAssistsemployers to develop training plans for clientsDevelops and delivers workshops and information sessions for the employer communityMonitors client on-the-job progress and providesappropriate interventionsfor all placementsCoachesemployers and clients to help ensure successful outcomesDevelops clear pipelinepotential ofemployers willing to work with YMCA Employment Services for placements of registered andmaintainknowledge about local employers their business and what they look for in new employeesSupport employer recruitment efforts andparticipatein Employment Services employer programsMaintains employer database in compliance with privacy legislation in consultation with Site ManagerComplete update and prioritize all required paperwork casenotesand documentationin a timely manner asrequiredExploreidentifyand clarify client interests motivation abilities skillseducationand experience in relation to short- and long-term career and employment goalsusing assessment tools asrequiredDevelop and conduct job search/employment related workshops and information sessions and other workshops as needed for both job seekers and the employer community documenting outcomesMultitask and adapt to evolving government directivesDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of the job search process including new and evolving methods of self-promotion used by clientsThrough knowledge of localregionaland broaderlabourmarket informationadvisestheteam onhow to access in-depth information asrequiredKnowledge of major online job information and career guidance sources for all major industries and vocations and support job seekers to access this informationAbility to and employers understand the changing labour market and its impact on the job search processExperience working in an environment where service is being provided to the public and experience delivering outstanding customer serviceDemonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and youth at riskUnderstand the Performance Management model and the Service Quality Standard and its composition and actively works with the employment team toattain maintain and exceed that standardDemonstratestrong supportand commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in CanadaDemonstratestrong supportand commitment to serving the membership facilityusersand all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/MuskokaAdherence to all provincial and federal legislation experienceMustpossessaminimum 5 years experience coaching/developing/training people either one-on-one and/or in a large group setting in employment services or other relevant
