Job description

Humans of HR is an upcoming boutique recruitment agency in Vancouver and is very quickly becoming the go-to agency for hiring and placement of skilled corporate Professionals. Our client, a respected organization within the natural resources sector, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join their team on a 16-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR functions, supporting employees and leaders while helping deliver an exceptional employee experience


The ideal candidate is a proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to both day-to-day HR operations and longer-term people initiatives.


Responsibilities


  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding activities.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment processes for a variety of corporate positions, including posting opportunities, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing offers.
  • Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to support workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational needs.
  • Prepare and maintain employment-related documentation, employee records, and HR files while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain employee information within HR systems and support ongoing data integrity and process improvements.
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Collaborate with payroll and internal stakeholders to ensure employee information, compensation updates, and related changes are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with compensation-related activities, including salary reviews, internal movements, and market-based recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to employees and leaders regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace practices.
  • Support employee leave management, accommodations, and other employee relations matters as required.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, wellness, and inclusion initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvement initiatives, reporting, and workforce analytics to support business objectives.
  • Support internal communications and other HR programs designed to enhance operational effectiveness and the overall employee experience.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Provide general support to the HR team and contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
  • CPHR designation, or actively working toward designation, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, and HR operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to supporting employees and leaders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms is considered an asset.
  • Experience within natural resources, industrial, engineering, construction, or related sectors is an asset.
