Job description

Our Story & Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Consultant, Talent Management, you will play a critical role in enabling the successful delivery of Vancity’s enterprise talent management programs. This role supports the end‑to‑end execution of core talent processes by translating research, data, and program plans into well‑organized materials, seamless logistics, and positive experiences for leaders and employees. You will work closely with partners across People & Culture to ensure talent programs are delivered with consistency, accuracy, and care, supporting leader effectiveness and employee development across the organization.

This is a fulltime, temporary role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Learning and Talent Development. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be onsite for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Supporting the operational delivery of enterprise talent programs and cycles through coordination of scheduling, communications, documentation, trackers, and follow‑ups
  • Synthesizing research and data into clear, well‑structured presentations and draft business cases for review and decision‑making
  • Assisting with planning and logistics for talent activities such as calibration sessions, leader working sessions, communications rollouts, and program timelines
  • Maintaining program materials, templates, records, and process documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and ease of access
  • Tracking action items, deliverables, and milestones across multiple initiatives to support timely completion and readiness
  • Providing day‑to‑day operational support for talent systems and tools, including data entry, user support, workflow coordination, and basic troubleshooting
  • Coordinating meeting logistics, pre‑reads, agenda materials, and post‑session follow‑ups to support effective use of leader and employee time
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve templates, communications, checklists, and repeatable processes while upholding high quality standards

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • A post‑secondary degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting talent management, HR programs, or people‑focused initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex programs, timelines, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate data and research into clear, practical materials
  • Experience supporting HR systems or talent tools, including data entry, reporting, and user support
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience supporting leadership development, performance management, DEIR, or career development programs
  • Familiarity with HRIS or talent management platforms
  • Experience working in a unionized or values‑driven organization

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Organized – You excel at managing details, timelines, and multiple priorities with care and consistency.
  • Collaborative – You enjoy partnering with diverse stakeholders and contributing to shared outcomes.
  • Analytical – You are comfortable working with data and research to inform program delivery and decisions.
  • Serviceoriented – You take pride in providing responsive, professional support that enhances the leader and employee experience.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $86,400 to $106,680 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

A career at Vancity is more than just a job, you’re joining a tradition of change-makers who are creating lasting change for our communities. Beyond base pay, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package to ensure our employees are empowered to thrive:

  • Living Wage Employer: We’re the largest private-sector Living Wage Employer in Canada and consistently ranked among Canada’s Top Employers.
  • Customizable Benefits: Permanent employees receive flexible benefit packages that can be tailored annually to meet evolving needs.
  • Generous Vacation: New employees start with 3-4 weeks of vacation per year, with additional days earned over time.
  • Extra Stat Holidays: In addition to BC’s 11 statutory holidays, we offer 2 extra days, plus care days for personal or family illness.
  • Immediate Health Coverage: Health and dental benefits begin on your hire date, with three levels of coverage to choose from.
  • Defined Benefit Pension: Our retirement plan provides a guaranteed income for life, recognizing that retirement looks different for everyone.

Vancity supports an inclusive hiring process for candidates who self-identify as Indigenous, Black, or Trans. With special permission from the BC Human Rights Commissioner, this initiative provides access to career development opportunities, prioritized job screening, and feedback.
