Site Description:
Windsor Regional Hospital’s Met Campus (1995 Lens Ave) is a major acute-care site offering emergency services, inpatient care, diagnostic imaging, surgical units, cancer care, and multiple specialty clinics. Security staff monitor entrances, manage visitor flow, patrol busy clinical areas, support emergency response, and safeguard patients, staff, and essential hospital operations in a high-traffic healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. Daily lock and unlock of facilities.
- Inspect and screen bags or cargo using equipment of hands
- Perform searches of passengers with tools or by hand
- Monitor and screen passengers through screening checkpoints and other procedures
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
- Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
- Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Diploma or working towards in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
