Job description
New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is building a team to support a major public sector client in delivering a data protection and service resilience initiative across a complex multi-cloud enterprise environment. This role will focus on requirements development, solution design, migration planning, and implementation oversight for a new backup and data protection platform.
This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact modernization initiative involving storage, backup, database platforms, service resilience, and cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on reliability, recoverability, and operational resilience.
Responsibilities:Develop systems and application requirements in support of service resilience and backup capabilitiesSupport solution design and implementation planning for a new data protection platformLead planning and preparation for migration from the existing legacy solution to the new platformIdentify dependencies across IT systems and applicationsDevelop roadmaps to rationalize systems in the context of the Backup Solution and Service Resilience projectParticipate in backup solution design analysis and migration wave planningDefine migration waves based on current system dependencies and technical constraintsAnalyze deficiencies related to service resilience in a multi-cloud environmentRecommend remediation approaches to improve resiliency, recoverability, and operational continuityResearch and analyze complex issues, identify alternatives, and support timely decision-making
Requirements:Extensive experience with storage, backup, DB2, and SQL Server6–9 years of Information Systems experience in a related areaBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computing Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSpecialist knowledge of data protection and service resilience conceptsGeneral knowledge of identity management technologies and design principlesGeneral knowledge of software development methodologiesGeneral knowledge of cloud computing platforms, including SaaS, IaaS, and/or PaaSExperience supporting migration, modernization, or resilience initiatives in complex enterprise environmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
