Job description
Are you a process-driven quality professional who thrives on continuous improvement and being the "voice of the customer" within a manufacturing environment? We are seeking a temporary Quality Engineer for an exciting 1-year contract opportunity. Located on-site in Vaughan, ON, this pivotal role is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously developing the local Quality Management System (QMS) for a major North American manufacturing and supply chain organization.

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Vaughan, ON (On-site)

Position Type: 1-Year Contract

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Advantages
Impactful Role: Act as the ultimate champion for quality assurance, with the authority to recommend production halts and quarantine materials to safeguard customer satisfaction.

Collaborative Network: Work closely with a broad regional operations team, plant managers, and international quality engineering peers.

Resume Builder: Gain invaluable experience managing a robust QMS and utilizing advanced ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central 365) within a complex global supply chain framework.

Responsibilities
As the Quality Engineer, you will lead the quality claims process and serve as the main driver for continuous improvement at the Vaughan facility. Your day-to-day duties will include:

Strategy & QMS Management: Define and implement the local quality assurance strategy; take full ownership of the QMS and internal audit findings.

Claims & ERP Handling: Document, research, and manage customer claims and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) using the BC365 ERP quality modules.

Quality Authority: Evaluate production quality; authorize the quarantine of non-conforming parts/products, propose product recalls when required, and recommend production/shipment holds for assessment.

External Liaison: Act as the primary interface for external certification bodies (e.g., ISO, TUV, SP) and manage compliance findings.

Culture & Training: Secure customer-perceived quality by improving tools, processes, and competencies; promote quality awareness through regular communication, training, and forums.

Financial Impact: Actively work to reduce annual warranty costs and meet targeted corporate KPIs.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset:

Experience: 3–5 years of experience within a complex, global supply chain or quality organization is preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent documented experience successfully running a similar operation/function in a related manufacturing industry.

Technical Quality Skills: Strong understanding of Product Quality Assurance tools (e.g., PPAP, 5-Why, Root Cause Analysis, 8D) and QMS frameworks.

Systems & Software: Proficiency with standard office tools is required; hands-on experience with digital claims-handling applications and ERP software (specifically BC365) is highly advantageous.

Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English with the ability to engage, motivate, and collaborate with internal leadership, operations teams, and external customers.

Personal Attributes: Safety-oriented, resilient, and independent. You must be highly analytical yet decisive, with a total-cost and profitability mindset.

Physical/Environment Capabilities: Comfortable split-working between a quiet office environment and a manufacturing floor (where intermediate to loud noise and moving mechanical vehicles are present).

Summary
If you are an operational, results-oriented quality professional ready to make a significant impact on local manufacturing standards, we want to hear from you!
