TheClaims Advisor Commercial Propertyis essential to Gore Mutuals success acting as a safeguard of both customer trust and financial stability. This role demands a blend of meticulous investigation collaborative problem-solving and decisive action within defined guidelines. Adjusters independently manage a portfolioof primarilycommercial property claims navigating a spectrum of complexity. Their mission is to investigate evaluate negotiate and settle these claims always adhering to company protocols and regulations. By thoroughly assessing lossesdeterminingaccuratecoverage and efficiently resolving claims they contribute directly to Gore Mutuals bottom line. Beyond technicalexpertise theadjustersfocuson delivering a positive claims experience with policyholders further strengthening the companys reputation. Job Responsibilities:

• Claims Investigation and Assessment
• Conduct thorough andtimelyinvestigations of commercial property losses including site visits interviews and analysis of relevant documentation.
• Gather evidence todeterminecauseof loss scope of damage and applicable coverage.
• Document findings accurately and clearly in the claim file.
• Collaborate with experts (engineers contractors etc.) as needed to assess complex losses.
• Coverage Determination and Reserve Setting
• Analyze policy wordings and endorsements todeterminecoverage applicability and setaccuratereserves based on investigation findings.
• Apply knowledge of commercial property insurance principles and legal requirements.
• Consult with senior adjusters or underwriters for complex coverage issues.
• Regularly review and adjust reserves asnew informationbecomes available.
• Negotiation and Settlement
• Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with claimants balancing customer satisfaction with cost containment for Gore Mutual.
• Explain coverage decisions clearly and professionally to claimants.
• Utilize effective negotiation techniques to reach mutually agreeable settlements.
• Escalate complex or high-value settlements to senior adjusters or management asappropriate.
• Customer Service and Communication
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims processmaintainingopen and transparent communication with all stakeholders.
• Promptly respond to inquiries and provide regular updates on claim status.
• Explain claims processes and procedures to policyholders and brokers.
• Build rapport and trust with claimants tofacilitatea positive claims experience.
• Risk Mitigation and Continuous Improvement
• Identifytrends and potential risks related to commercial property claims contributing to ongoing risk mitigation and process improvement efforts.
• Participate in post-loss reviews and team discussions to share insights and lessons learned.
• Identifyopportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes that mayimpactclaims handling.

What you need to Succeed:

• Post Secondary education is preferred.
• 5-10 years of property claims adjusting experience including 1-3 years of commercial experience
• Experience with commercial insurance policies: Familiarity with the nuances of commercial property coverage including business interruptionbuildersrisk and equipment breakdown.
• Demonstrated ability to handle moderately complex claims: Experience with claims involving multiple parties technical issues or higher financial values.
• Customer service experience: Proven ability to communicate effectively with claimants brokers and other stakeholders in a professional and empathetic manner.
• CIP designation is nice to have.

Location: Cambridge or Vancouver.

Hybrid:We are a hybrid organization and thrive off in personcollaborationthis role requires 2 days per week in our Cambridge Toronto or Vancouver office.

The expected base salary range for this position is$57500 - 95000. Depending on your relevant experience skills qualifications market conditions and business needs base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutuals discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This rangereflects the expected base salary for this role but may notrepresentthe full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
