Job description
The company, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and integration of enterprise application solutions. This role is responsible for developing application components and system integrations, translating architectural designs into scalable and maintainable solutions, and contributing to user interface prototyping, implementation, unit testing, and deployment activities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an Agile delivery team, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, mentoring peers, and fostering a respectful and innovative team culture. This position is ideal for a software professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, contributing to modern software engineering practices, and delivering high-quality solutions within a collaborative environment.Responsibilities:
  • Build, support, and enhance business-critical applications, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing operation across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve application incidents with a strong sense of ownership, restoring services quickly and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements and new functionality in alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Implement technology upgrades and platform improvements that enhance application stability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to application modernization initiatives, including migration to modern frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and contemporary software engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with AI-powered development tools and intelligent assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, to accelerate research, documentation, prototyping, development, and modernization efforts.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions to promote quality, consistency, and engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, business analysts, and operations teams to deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Develop and execute unit tests and support integration, system, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize processes, tools, and development practices.
  • Participate in engineering communities of practice and knowledge-sharing activities to support innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Maintain technical documentation, implementation artifacts, and operational procedures to support ongoing application support and sustainability.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, including Boards, Pipelines, Repositories, and Artifacts.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio and the Microsoft development ecosystem.
  • Experience developing and supporting Angular applications.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, and backend application development.
  • Experience working with modern source control practices and Git-based workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Python and the ability to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Python-based solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to contribute to application support, modernization, enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Demonstrated interest in collaborating with AI agents to accelerate software modernization, documentation, productivity, and innovation initiatives.
  • Experience with AI prompt engineering, prompt refinement, and leveraging generative AI technologies within the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based applications and modern software engineering practices.
