About the Opportunity

Eriez Flotation Canada Inc. the flagship office for FLOTATION, is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Sales Team. The primary function of this role is to create and service a sales pipeline of opportunities and to convert those opportunities into sales for the company’s Mining market, focusing on Eriez’s flotation and magnetic separation technologies. The Sales Engineer is responsible to work within the provided strategies. This includes direct selling to end-users, OEM’s and EPC’s, managing and retaining relationships with existing clients and supporting representative agents across the British Columbia area. If the candidate is located in the Vancouver mainland, this position will be hybrid, based out of our Delta, BC office. However, if the candidate is based in Prince George or Kamloops, the role will be fully remote.

In this role, you will undertake the following duties, including but not limited to:

Sales

  • Identify opportunities, build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve sales growth
  • Convert opportunities into orders through solution-based sales and relationship selling
  • Prepare, deliver and present detailed technical and commercial sales/product proposals and presentations
  • Deliver customer presentations daily or weekly as the per the business plan
  • Manage lists of opportunities, accounts and targets, plan and prioritize to grow business within Canada, BC coverage areas
  • Plan to achieve 50% customer face/contact time targets as defined by the agreed KPI’s
  • Lead development of commercial proposals including estimating budgets and presenting the proposal to the client, contract negotiation, and ongoing follow ups on the project status
  • Must be well organized, able to plan client engagement and associated travel (approx. 50%)

Strategic

  • Identify sales opportunities and coordinate Eriez resources to address them
  • Assist, as required, to solve customer technical problems and recommend solutions
  • Contribute to the preparation of and attend trade shows & conferences as required
  • Champion client projects internally from concept to delivery, ensuring successful handover to Engineering & Project Management after the order, and to the Client at completion
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions in Canada coverage areas

Reporting

  • Contribute to periodic sales meetings by summarizing sales opportunities, market analysis and competitor analysis
  • Update status of projects and opportunities in CRM and communicate as required
  • Ability to prioritise workload, set and achieve agreed sales targets and meet deadlines
  • Provide active feedback and insights from customers to the product development, engineering, and marketing team

About You

To qualify, you must have +5 years of relevant experience in Mining or Mineral Processing comprising one or more of the following:

  • Equipment sales, including developing solutions and implementing them in the field
  • Field services and training to mining industry clients
  • Familiarity with flotation technology and magnetics separation technology

We also require a degree in related field such as Metallurgical or Mineral Processing Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sales in flotation technology, magnetics separation, manufacturing, and/or mining equipment industry.

In addition, you must have knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:

  • Strong sales and business acumen to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Understanding of commercial terms and conditions for sale of equipment and services
  • Well-established network in the mining/metallurgical sector
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including confidence in giving presentations
  • Self-motivated, with a capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • Fully competent in MS Office products
  • Experience with a CRM system a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is an asset
