Job description

About YOU

You are a compassionate, skilled, and client-centered mental health professional with a Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent field, and are registered or eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists. You bring at least three years of direct clinical experience working with children, youth, and families using a range of therapeutic modalities, including individual, family, and group therapy. You have experience supporting individuals with complex needs and dual diagnoses, such as ASD or FASD, and are confident in applying a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach to care.

Your practice is grounded in evidence-based frameworks, and you're comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary settings. You have strong communication, case management, and organizational skills, and are adept at navigating community systems to advocate effectively for clients. You’re flexible, responsive, and committed to meeting families where they are—whether in their homes, schools, or other community spaces. You're technologically proficient, familiar with virtual care environments, and possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Above all, you are passionate about supporting children and families through intensive, meaningful interventions that promote resilience, safety, and long-term wellbeing.

The ROLE

The Intensive Therapist will work with individuals with complex needs / dual diagnoses and is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external service partners to provide optimal care. You will prioritize client safety by adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care and, by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents. You are also committed to supporting client-centered care by adhering to ROCK’s principles.

Please note that this is a contract full-time position, working 35 hours per week covering a staff leave with a planned end date of September 28th 2026 or until the staff on leave returns, whichever is earlier.

  • Experience with Dual Diagnosis (ie. ASD, FASD) is considered an asset.

  • Evidence of a theoretical framework which guides clinical work, is compatible with the agency’s approach and reflects an understanding of crisis theory.

What will help you succeed:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential

  • Demonstrated ability to apply relevant knowledge and training to the assessment and treatment of children and their families.

  • Strong case management skills

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • A proven ability to work independently

  • Proficient in the use of technology and working in a virtual environment; MAC OS operating systems; strong MS Word and Excel competencies are essential; expertise in the use of PowerPoint is an asset

Be part of a team that makes a difference. Apply today and help us shape the future of mental health care for children, youth, and families!

We provide equitable treatment and accommodation to ensure barrier-free employment in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and ROCK’s Accommodation Policy.

If you are invited to participate in the interview process and require accommodation for the interview, we ask that you provide your accommodation request as soon as reasonably practicable. Please be advised that you may be requested to provide verifiable supporting information, such as medical or other documentation depending upon the type of Code-protected accommodation, to Human Resources to ensure that appropriate accommodation is provided to you throughout the hiring process.
