Remote NSBE IT Lead 2025/2026

Introduction:

NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) is a non-profit organization with over 16,000 members in 500 active chapters all over the world. NSBE's mission is to 'increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.' Within the Queen's University NSBE Chapter, we plan on achieving this goal by offering opportunities for mentorship, academic support, and professional development. We're looking to hire a team of motivated and passionate students for our exec team to help us accomplish this goal.

Role Description:

As IT Lead, you’ll manage and enhance the technical operations that keep NSBE Queen’s running smoothly. From maintaining the website to managing mailing lists and digital tools, you’ll play a key role in ensuring a seamless digital experience for members and execs alike. If you’re passionate about web design, problem-solving, and tech, this is the role for you.

Main Responsibilities:

- Maintain and update the chapter’s website

- Manage mailing lists, digital tools, and online forms

- Collaborate with other leads to implement tech solutions as needed

Must Have Qualities:

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

- Effective written, and oral communication skills.

- Effective time-management skills.

Nice To Have Qualities:

- Experience with WordPress or other website platforms

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Additional Information:

The expected time commitment of the NSBE exec team varies by role, but is expected to be 1-3 hours a week. This includes meetings, events, and club communications.
