Job description

Location: Metro Vancouver Area - Hybrid (Tuesdays and Thursdays in our East Van studio)

Salary Range: CAD $60,000 to $85,000/year

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

We are seeking a motivated and strategic Marketing Manager with a strong emphasis on project management and operations. The Marketing Manager will oversee the plan and operations of the marketing program for 4 to 6 small businesses at a time. This new team member will be a generalist who excels in creating and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies across various channels, generating impactful marketing assets, and maintaining seamless communication with clients and internal teams.

You excel in creating marketing roadmaps, developing marketing assets like competitive analyses, personas, and journey maps, and managing projects to ensure timely completion. You are a sharp project manager who believes that organization and order is a requirement for success. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment and want to flip between multiple clients.

You have a knack for building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring clear and transparent communication, and providing regular updates. Your analytical skills help you track campaign performance and refine strategies for better outcomes. You are comfortable managing vendor relationships and overseeing budgets to ensure smooth collaborations.

Responsibilities:

Fractional Marketing Strategy and Implementation:

  • Deliver tailored and effective marketing solutions.
  • Maintain continuous communication with regular progress updates.
  • Incorporate client feedback to refine services and build strong partnerships.
  • Plan and implement multichannel marketing strategies.
  • Generate diverse marketing assets like competitive analyses, personas, and journey maps.
  • Manage project contractors and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee budgets and ensure smooth vendor collaboration.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance, refining strategies based on outcomes.
  • Oversee and execute marketing projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Create and monitor marketing roadmaps, adapting to changes as needed.

Client Relationships:

  • Address client needs with prompt solutions and transparent communication.
  • Independently manage smaller engagements or collaborate on larger projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with client teams.
  • Ensure seamless and collaborative communication.
  • Lead client and internal meetings to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Provide regular updates on project milestones and adjustments.

Team and Company Involvement:

  • Participate in client operations meetings and contribute to overall company success.
  • Foster a positive company culture and offer innovative improvement ideas.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives.

Skills

Strategic Marketing Expertise:

  • Experience in developing and implementing multichannel marketing strategies.
  • Proven track record of creating and monitoring marketing roadmaps.
  • Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated success in ensuring timely project completion.
  • Competence in tracking and analyzing campaign performance and refining strategies.
  • Experience managing project contractors and vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in overseeing budgets and ensuring smooth vendor collaboration.
  • Background in generating diverse marketing assets, including competitive analyses, personas, and journey maps.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., CRM software, marketing automation tools, analytics tools).
  • Proficiency in relevant marketing and project management software; experience with ClickUp, Monday.com, or Asana is an asset.
  • Ability to independently manage smaller engagements or collaborate on larger projects.

Communication and Leadership:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in maintaining continuous communication and providing regular progress updates.
  • Proven ability to lead and organize teams with excellent delegation skills.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Expertise in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Proactive in addressing client needs and providing prompt solutions.
  • Experience leading client and internal meetings to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Flexibility to adapt strategies based on changing client needs and circumstances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on strategic planning and implementation.
  • Proven track record in project management and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and leading client meetings.
  • Background in vendor and budget management.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, project management course or training or similar is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a marketing contractor, freelancer or working in an agency setting is highly preferred.
  • Background working with small businesses ($1M to $8M in revenue), with smaller marketing budgets ($250k to $500k per year).
