Job description
Are you a skilled CNC Machinist who thrives on complex problem-solving rather than just pushing buttons? We are seeking a permanent, full-time CNC Machinist / Technician to join our leading automotive manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, ON. This is a specialized, high-impact role on our permanent midnight shift where you will move away from repetitive, high-volume production operation and focus heavily on custom troubleshooting, continuous improvement fixes, and prototype proofing. Our climate-controlled facility offers a stable, non-unionized, and non-cyclical environment with an exceptional history of job security.

As a part of the Randstad Operational specialization, we connect top skilled trades and industrial management talent with Canada’s leading employers, ensuring long-term career growth, robust training programs, and competitive compensation packages.

Advantages
• Competitive hourly pay with a firm, structured scale and a $2.50/hour midnight shift premium.
• Hourly Rate Range: Unlicensed scale is $35.00–$41.12/hr. Licensed scale is $37.00–$42.72/hr. Rates are firm based on experience with no leeway.
• Weekly pay every Friday via direct deposit.
• Full medical and dental coverage starting after just 1 month of employment.
• Short-term and long-term disability benefits kicking in after 3 months.
• Automatic RSP enrollment with a 50% employer match after 6 months, plus access to a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) after a 2-year vesting period.
• 10 days of vacation in the first year, 15 days after 3 years, and 20 days after 10 years, plus 3 prorated Days off per year.
• $250 annual tool allowance provided after a 3-month probationary period.
• Fully funded and supported internal pathways to obtain your 429A or equivalent trade license, with an automatic pay increase upon completion.
• High upward mobility and extensive cross-divisional training opportunities.
• Fully air-conditioned and climate-controlled manufacturing facility with free on-site parking.

Responsibilities
• Perform high-level troubleshooting of CNC machinery, broken tooling, fixtures, and production processes on the shop floor.
• Read and interpret existing CNC programs to make necessary adjustments and modifications using Fanuc controls.
• Read and analyze engineering data structures and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to correct part features based on CMM feedback.
• Set up machines, touch off tools, and run small prototype batches (e.g., 30-part runs) to prove out processes before handing them over to production.
• Fabricate custom, temporary, or permanent fix-it parts using manual lathes and standard machinist bench work.
• Collaborate dynamically within a tight-knit team of 2 to 3 technicians on the midnight shift to balance urgent breakdown repairs with ongoing continuous improvement projects.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to maneuver materials on the production floor as needed.

Qualifications
• Guided by 3+ years of related CNC machining experience, though candidates at the tail end of an apprenticeship program with the right drive will be considered.
• Strong background working with CNC Lathes; please note that candidates with experience exclusively on CNC mills will not be considered.
• Must own and provide basic hand tools (sockets, wrenches, indicators, magnetic nightstands).
• Flexibility to work a permanent midnight shift schedule.
• Must provide standard CSA-approved safety shoes (green triangle) and adhere to mandatory hearing protection policies.
• Possession of a 429A Machinist License is an asset but not mandatory; unlicensed candidates with equivalent experience are highly encouraged to apply.
• Successful completion of standard background checks and employment reference verifications prior to starting.

Summary
If you are a driven CNC Machinist who wants to step away from basic machine operation and utilize your true technical "builder" mindset, we want to hear from you. This role offers immediate placement, unparalleled stability, and a clear path toward professional licensing and advancement. To apply for this permanent midnight shift opportunity in Woodbridge, please submit your resume directly through this portal. Qualified candidates will be contacted rapidly for a two-step in-person interview process, including a practical technical evaluation and a plant floor tour.
