SAP Project Systems Functional Analyst - HYBRID

This senior role serves as the critical functional bridge between business stakeholders and technical software delivery teams. You will be responsible for designing, validating, and enabling SAP S/4HANA–based Project Systems (PS) and SAP EPPM processes that tightly align corporate objectives with SAP standard capabilities. A primary focus of this position is managing complex cross-platform integrations, ensuring a seamless interface between the S/4HANA Core and key systems like Primavera and Omega PIMS. Adhering strictly to clean-core principles, you will minimize customization to ensure end-to-end project systems are fit-for-purpose, upgrade-safe, and highly scalable.

Responsibilities
1. Functional Design & Clean Core Execution

Guide the design and validation of SAP S/4HANA Project Systems processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and SAP standard capabilities. Provide functional oversight and guidance for assigned Project Systems domains in the SAP landscape, translating business requirements into fit-to-standard designs.

Identify process inefficiencies and recommend SAP-enabled improvements that support simplification, standardization, and automation.

Facilitate and lead fit-to-standard workshops, confirming standard adoption and documenting justified deviations. Evaluate functional gaps and recommend appropriate solutions (configuration, standard extensions, or governed customizations) in alignment with Clean Core principles.

Ensure Project Systems designs remain upgrade-safe, scalable, and supportable for long-term operability.

2. Cross-Functional Integration & Governance

Collaborate tightly with project functional and technical teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment.
Validate and confirm complex Project Systems integration requirements with upstream and downstream platforms, including Omega PIMS and Primavera. Partner directly with the system integrator to review and approve functional designs and ensure quality solution delivery.

Support functional decision-making within the SAP Plus governance framework, escalating decisions as required based on scope, risk, or cross-functional impact.

Manage requirements and scope clarity boundaries to minimize delivery risk, late design changes, and functional impacts.

3. Testing, Data & Business Adoption

Define and support functional test scenarios to guarantee thorough verification of real-world Project Systems operations across key systems like SAP PS, EPPM, and Omega PIMS.

Validate master and transactional data readiness, working alongside data owners to resolve quality, data integrity, testing completion, and cutover preparedness issues.
Establish clear, minimum readiness standards for Project Systems go-live, focusing on data quality, integration testing, and operational support models. Contribute directly to training and change enablement frameworks to support wide business adoption of new processes and tools.

Act as a trusted technical advisor during operational transition phases, supporting stable day-one go-live milestones and post-go-live stabilization.

Qualifications
Core SAP & Project Systems Expertise

Education: University degree in Project Systems, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). Tenure: 8+ years of dedicated SAP Project Systems experience, including participation in at least one major ERP implementation or transformation program.

Program Depth: Substantial experience in IS support and enhancement related work, alongside hands-on experience designing and validating SAP solutions in modernization programs.

Domain Specialization: Deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Project Systems, specialized in integration with Omega PIMS, Primavera, and SAP Data analytics platforms.

Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of end-to-end Project Systems and Portfolio processes, including project initiation, project forecasting, and full project lifecycles.

Technical & Delivery SkillsProven ability to apply fit-to-standard and clean core principles to minimize customization and protect long-term SAP upgradeability.

Experience evaluating and approving functional gaps, extensions, and custom developments within structured governance landscapes.

Working knowledge of integrated platforms such as SAP EPPM and related ecosystem environments (Omega 365, Primavera, Hexagon, Cleopatra) and how they interact with S/4HANA.

Solid understanding of master and transactional data critical to Project Systems operations, paired with familiarity with SAP reporting approaches (embedded analytics, BDC, or integrated reporting landscapes).

Preferred Certifications (Assets)

Project Systems or SAP professional designations (e.g., SAP PS, SAP EPPM certifications).

Testing or delivery methodologies certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP, Agile/Scrum).
