Role At a GlanceThe Project Accountant (PA) is the owner of the financial operations of the projects assigned to them. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining the financial integrity of projects from initiation through closeout working closely with project manager (PMs) and project coordinators (PCs) the PA ensures accurate project setup disciplined cost control timely invoicing effective accounts receivable management and concise financial project reporting. The PA is a valued member of the project team and plays a critical role in identifying financial risk supporting recovery actions and safeguarding project profitability. Your analytical abilities turn incomprehensible numbers into meaningful data allowing project leader to make proactive decisions to ensure the financial wellbeing of the right candidate may be located in any of our five office locations and may work from any of those Love This Role IfYou are ambitious in your pursuit to be the get the importance of paying attention to detail without losing sight of the big embrace progressive change out-of-the-box thinking and working in a high-energy you will doReviewvariouscontract feetypesbillingstructureterms andfinancial risksduring the project initiation stage; Work with Project Managers to ensuresmartprojectsetupin accordance withthe Clientcontract; Quantify financial impacts of scope changes and track approved and pending additionalservices; Maintain the project forecast andmonitorimpacts on fee burn and cash flow; Prepare monthly project performance reportsandcommunicate status with Project Managers; Prepare and submitinvoicesin accordance withspecific project billing requirements; Responsible for collecting AR and working with the Project Manager to resolve any issues as applicable; Manage financial aspects of consultant relationships from proper fee setup to payment release; Support Project Managers during the billing and earned value analysis monthly cycle to ensure accuracy of coded costs and revenue recognition; Quantify financial risk exposure and advise onmitigation strategies; Attend internal and external project meetings as applicable; Finalize billing WIP clearance and AR collection at project closeout; Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives; Assistwith various tasks andprojectsassigned by supervisors to support the overall success of the team and companyobjectives; Demonstrate a strong commitment to our company values of quality client focus teamwork sustainability and community;integrating these principles into daily work practices and interactions with colleagues clients and you bring to the tableMinimum of 7years of experience in project accountingwithin a mediumsized firm in thearchitectureengineeringor constructionindustry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and project cost controlAptitude for learning new accounting systems communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to seamlessly partner with non-finance minded colleagues to be a trusted advisor. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail particularly under deadline pressures; strong time management skills. Ability to conduct data analysis and problem-solving with a proactive and collaborative approach to achieve team objectives. Confident in independentjudgment and a commitment to continuous improvement in finance processes and systems. Commitment to accuracy integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
